Early Snowboarding Mission Continues.....
After the Freeze event in London's Battersea Park i flew back to Edinburgh for a few days to see respective friends and family before flying back out to Austria. I decided it was a good idea to keep up the pre season riding and come back to Mayrhofen to continue where i left off. My first day back is tomorrow so fingers crossed the weather's on my side.

Winter Starts Early
So my winters started already... I'm out in Mayerhofen for a weeks worth of shredding. There's good cover up at the glacier and the parks looking awesome. The last 2 days have been pretty sick and getting back on my board after a summer off is amazing. Been taking it easy so far but looking to get jumping in the next day or so....Fingers crossed the sun keeps shining!! Catch you at the LG Big Air Event in London's Battersea Park.

Edinburgh Summer
Summer’s been sick so far....... so sick that I haven't had time to update my site in quite a few months!! At the moment it’s the Edinburgh Festival so skate spots are limited and most busy places are a total bust so we’re having to be fairly creative. I was out a few nights ago trying to shoot a spot but we got shut down so quick.....Damn those security guards!!!! I’ll keep trying though. Aside from skating am trying to keep fit for this coming winter. I know it’s a while away but got to keep on top of these things. I’ve got a more intense training program starting in a few weeks. I’ll be in touch soon......

Oakley Jib Vid
All is going well up in bonnie Scotland. Got the green light from my physio to go riding again so I'm setting my sights on the Oakley Jib Vid which is in roughly 2 weeks. Up until now I've been hitting the gym like everyday to get fit again for the coming months of riding and I'm hoping it will all have paid off as I'm super excited to go shred again. On top of that I've been going to Space Physio in Edinburgh to get strong which is wicked. If it wasn't for those guys help I wouldn't be going riding that's for sure. A huge virtual hi five goes out to them. Apart from that just moved flat in Edinburgh which was a total nightmare. Anyone who's moved house knows what i'm talking about. I think I've moved house about 10 times in the past 9 years and every time is more stressful than the last. Anyways enough of my moaning. The next time I'll be in touch will be from the snow. If you check the photo below it shows how strong my shoulder is.

Early season riding
“So decided on a bit of an early season riding mission and got in touch with Nate Kern who lives in Breckenridge, Colorado. He assured me Breck’s park is always up and running by mid November and it’s defo a place to hit up to get your legs back, plus as it’s early season there would be no cameras around and it would just be fun riding. To me that sounded perfect and exactly what I was all about. Armed with my passport and a full back of energy I was on my way. I landed on the 21st of November and was intending to stay for 3 weeks to get ma shred on. It was going to be so sick. Unbeknown to me the snow hadn’t fallen as expected and there wasn’t a lot open in the way of runs, but they had made the most of what conditions they had. I was stoked on whatever the mountain had on offer and was just glad to be back riding again.
Unfortunately for me a week into my trip I caught my heel edge on a kinked box and it threw me to the landing. Sometimes you don’t have enough time to react or get yourself ready for impact so I landed on my left shoulder, separating my AC joint. Once I had it checked out by the medics they concluded it was a grade 4 separation and I needed it checked out by a shoulder specialist. So the next day I landed myself with an appointment to see Dr.Tom Hackett from the world renowned Steadman Hawkins Clinic. I was so lucky to see this guy as to others he’s a bit of legend and to even get to see him can be difficult. He assured me I needed surgery to straighten things out and that was a bit of blow as my season was just getting started.
A week later I’m in surgery and Dr. Hackett’s success rate goes up a notch.
He managed to re construct my AC joint and implant a ligament from a donor to insure my AC joint wouldn’t pop out again. I’m stoked it all went well but on the other hand my rehab time was going to be 3 months.
On the 12th of December I flew back to Edinburgh for Christmas and New Year and come week 4 after surgery I could take my sling off. I was so stoked on that day. Straight away I was to sort my physiotherapy out and I got referred to Space Clinics in Edinburgh. They’re a sports physiotherapy clinic who treat all sorts of injures and I’m definitely in good hands.
Check out http://www.spaceclinics.co.uk for any info. With their help I hope to be back riding again by the end of March.”
