Packing Bags Again!!

The last few weeks in Morzine have been amazing. A few powder days when I got back from Canada but once it was all tracked the snow park beckoned! Since then early mornings and long days have been on the agenda. It’s been amazing and the crew has been so positive to get some miles under our belts. Since the shapers moved the park from the Arare down along side the Stash on Linderets it’s only received positive remarks from all the riders. When the snow conditions in the back country have been a little stale the park’s been perfect to go ride and bang out some bangers!!

Tomorrow I’m back on the traveling wagon. Flying back to Edinburgh for one night then on Friday (19th) I’m flying out to Vancouver to attend a magazine trip with whitelines. There’s myself, Andy Nudds and Nelson Pratt as the riders so it’s bound to be memorable. Ed’s lined up cat boarding for 4 days in Revelstoke so it’s hopefully going to be amazing. Fingers crossed for fresh snow!!

Calgary here we come!!

Times flown by!! I’m flying out to Calgary tomorrow for 5 days of shooting at the COP which is a resort on the outskirts of the city. I passed it by a couple of years ago in a car heading to the airport and noticed it had one of the sickest snow parks. It boasts a 22ft high super pipe!! Can’t wait to session it. Off to finish packing! I'll Be in touch in a few days.

Laaaaaaaaaandon In It!!!

I’ve been in Hintertux for the last 2 weeks on a pre season training trip with the British Freestyle Team. It ended up being a fairly productive week but unfortunately we were slightly unlucky with the weather. I guess I can’t complain too much as in reality it still is October and very early in the season. I’m hoping to head back out early November for a week of more riding. Fingers crossed the weather holds out for us!

For the time being I’m in London as it’s the Metro Ski Show and London Freeze. I’ve also been chosen to do an FHM photo shoot where I’ll be wearing all of this years current kit and at the same time getting some great coverage for my sponsors. That’s happening today!! Between now and Freeze I'll probably be taking it easy and hopefully checking out some of London’s great skateparks.

It's a wrap!

Thats it! The Nokia Influencer Film has been shot. For the last 3 days it’s been a pretty intense filming schedule but it felt a success. Since last Friday the cameras were rolling and trying to capture every moment possible. Early morning starts were to ensure the best conditions and we were lucky with the weather. There was the occasional cloud to deal with but nothing too serious. The new phone I was given has been tried and tested and if I’m honest it’s definitely at the top of all time favorites. The camera especially was a complete surprise and we managed to bag some pretty sick shots just with that so hopefully they’ll feature one or two in the film.......

I've decided to stay in Mayrhofen for an extra couple of days as the conditions are pretty good plus I’m wanting to get a few more turns in before heading home. There’s a chance to film with Whitelines for the next 2 days so I’m going to jump at the chance.......

The Burgh!

I received my new phone about a week ago now and I've had a chance to play about with all the functions and applications it has on offer. If I'm completely honest I'm absolutely baffled at how many ways you can link the phone up to the web. I've come across this sick application called "qik" which enables you to stream live footage to the net from your phone anywhere in the world!! Honestly it's off the hook! It's got a 5mp camera which I've used to film some skating with and it looks awesome. I'm going to try stream some footage directly onto the net very soon......Keep an eye out on my Twitter page for updates......

The green light has been given on the snowboard trip to Austria. Were hoping to head out on the 17th for 4 days to film the “Influencer” film on the glacier. I can't wait to ride and ultimately test out the phone when I'm snowboarding.....

The Burgh!

Back in Edinburgh after a blinding weekend in London. I had a ticket for the Red Bull X-fighters event which was taking place at a very iconic London landmark - Battersea Powerstation. I haven't been to an event like it and compared to any snowboard event it's in a league of it's own. From the course to the stands and how well people were taken care of nothing was missed and as you can imagine it ended up being a HUGE success. I've never seen freestyle MX in real life before so i was on another planet. They go MASSIVE and it's sick seeing some of the worlds best doing there signature tricks you only see on TV. Got back on Sunday morning feeling slighlty worse for ware but i seem to be back on top of things now as i've had a few days to recuperate.

Next in line is a snow trip to Austria starting middle of next month. I got put forward to an ad agency in London (kindly by Red Bull) who are looking after Nokia as one of there biggest accounts. They are making individual short films called "Influencer Films" on 3 individuals who have slightly different lives compared to most. It's going to be a really interesting project and the final edit will be released on 3 of Nokia's global websites.........I'll post up details of when and where you can watch the film but keep checking back for updates.

I'm outa here.......

I managed to get a ticket for the final of the Red Bull X-Fighters event which is taking place at Battersea Power Station this Saturday. I've never been to a freestyle MX event before so i'm pretty excited and i'll be dissapointed if i don't see a double back!! Hahaha only joking! It should be sick though. Then come Sunday morning i'm heading back to Edinburgh......

Sun is shining!

The weather's taken a turn for the better. The last 2 weeks have been so unpredictable which aint good when your trying to go skating most days. But the last few days have been blinding hot! I've been making the 20 min drive out to Falkirk's outdoor concrete skate park which has been amazing. It's so refreshing skating new obstacles and ultimately getting used to transitions again.

A bit of news!! I've been made Snowsports Team Manager for RedBull which starts this coming season. I'll be managing 6 riders in total who include: James Carr, Laura Berry, Ben Kilner, Paddy Graham, Jamie Nicholls and ehhh ME! Shouldn't have too much of a problem managing myself but the others....Well who knows!!! Really excited though so watch this space for team updates......

Back In The Wee Smoke!

Red Bull give it the green light! Going to be elaborating on this very soon so keep checking back for new updates......The weather's been pretty poor the last week so unable to hit the streets for skating. Really disappointing as just bought a new stick! Plus the Edinburgh Festival is coming to town and our usual spot has been taken over by T4's Udder Belly which means Bristo Square is a no go! There's a few street spots to hit up so alls not lost. Aside from trying to skate i've been fully influenced by the tennis bug....Can't seem to get enough of it at the moment. I was out at our local indoor spot yesterday morning and it twas sick! Going again tonight! Wooop Wooooop!

On The Move........

On the train heading to the Big Smoke that is London! I've got a couple of meetings setup with Redbull and Oakley about possible ventures for next season. Nothing's set in stone but it's all very exciting!! I should have some up to date blogs posted throughout the week so check back when you get a chance. Wish me luck!

Life aint too bad

The last 6 weeks have been pretty chilled but i guess i have a had a wee summer hols in between. I was in Portugal around the start of June for a weeks worth of surfing, golf and tennis. A mate of mine has a place out there which we were taking full advantage of...Twas of the hook! I've been back for a few weeks getting on the fitness tip and riding my road bike like a mad man. Can't get enough of it and it's better when the roads are super quiet so trying to get out really early before the traffic hits. I've got a few more weeks in Edinburgh then i'm hitting London for a week around the 13th of July then fingers crossed a wee trip to Austria...But we'll see....!

At home in Edinburgh

It's been 3 weeks since my last update and i guess i've been pretty slack. I've been skateboarding at every opportunity and it's been awesome, the weather in Edinburgh couldn't have been better. I invested in a new skate set up which was the best thing i could have done as the old one was getting a little sloppy. My good mate Andy just bought a mini HD video camera so were planning on getting some filming done over the summer.....Keep checking my site for updated video clips......

Board Test Goes Down A Storm.....

I'm on the train heading back to Edinburgh after a blinder of a week in Austria's Kaunertal. The week itself was awesome and the park couldn't have been shaped any better by the locals. I was a little apprehensive at first as it was going to be a test for the knee but it held up really well and there was no aches or pains throughout the whole week. I'm moving back to Edinburgh for the foreseeable but hoping to head back Austria in June for more riding and then France in July. I've got a few skateboarding ideas so keep checking the blog for updates throughout the summer.....

Knee's all good!!

Had a wicked weekend up in Aviemore for the Vans Dawn Of The Shred contest. It was the first time i've been able to ride after surgery and i was really stoked that i had no problems. I was a little apprehensive at first but after a couple of runs it was like i was back to my old self. I did however hold back from hitting the kickers but general booting around was all good. I'm hoping to head out to Austria's glacier resort of Kaunertal next week for some end of season riding......I'll be in touch soon.

Physio is good!

I had my first session of physio back at Space Clinics in Edinburgh and it was reassuring to be in good hands again. After diagnosing the problems in my knee and some deep tissue massage i had considerably more movement. I've been told i can lose my crutch this weekend depending on how it feels and ultimately start walking unaided. It feels much better and fingers crossed i'll be riding in no time. They've given some exercises to do over the weekend then i'm back in again on Monday for more physio.

At Home...

Aye alls well....Finding it pretty hard to sit still as you can imagine but it’s something I need to do. Leg’s a lot better. Darren from RedBull came up to Edinburgh yesterday for a few hours to check my leg and get me thinking about exercise and recovery times. As soon as he arrived he got me off 2 crutches and downsized me to 1..Probably the best thing he could have done actually as I’m starting to use my knee/leg again and ultimately putting more and more weight on it. So much so I’m doing a wee circuit of the block with 1 crutch...Trying not to over doo it but it’s just nice to start seeing some sort of progress. He also gave me this thing called a Milokit...check it out online...It’s pretty sick! It’s almost like a multigym strap system that hooks over the top of a door and you can do a million an 1 exercises with it and it gives me something to do when I’m in the flat....

Homeward Bound!

I rode the Wangl Tangl qualifiers in Mayrhofen last Saturday and it was awesome. The course was super sick and i had a lot of fun and in the end i qualified 5th. Really stoked as the competition was fierce. Unfortunately towards the end of the day when it was slushy i took a fairly bad fall and twisted my left knee slightly. Didn't think too much about it at first but once i got it checked out and had an MRI scan it revealed i'd stretched and slightly torn my meniskus ligament. The doc seemed to think it was necessary to have a minor operation to clean the ligament up to make sure in the future no excess tissue would get caught up in my knee joint. Pretty daunting at first as the last thing i'd expected to have was surgery. The doc seemed cool enough and ultimately really trustworthy in that he's done this procedure many times over. By Monday it was all over and i'm on crutches for the next 7 days....I decided to come back to Edinburgh to see out the re-hab and hit up Space Clinic for physio......I'll keep yaz updated..!

Getting stoked......

I've just had the sickest day up in Avoriaz. It started off looking doubtful with a lot of real dense cloud but by midday it completely cleared and it was bluebird...Not a cloud in the sky for miles!! We spent most of the day scouting around some sick spots eventually ending up just off the Mosettes in a spot we like to keep under wraps as most people don't know about it.....It was soooooooooooo good!! Endless laps with sick untracked powder...Couldn't be any better. Plus it was Ribo's last day so we managed to secure some sick shots...All in all a pretty good day....

Japan was AMAZING.....

I've just got back from a 2 week trip to Japan where i was shooting with Whitelines Snowboard Magazine. It was defo one of the most memorable trips i've ever been on. We covered Hokaido in the north, Hakuba in the south then finally Tokyo for 1 night before flying back to London. I can't describe how sick the snow was and it seemed where ever we went the snow followed. We got some sick shots for the mag so fingers crossed the story turns out good. Keep an eye out for the story in Whitelines next year. I'm in Edinburgh this weekend chillin with Katie then flying back out Geneva on the 2nd of March. I'll be in touch soon.

The Pipe's Sick!

The last few days have been really productive and for once the pipe up in Avoriaz has been shaped to almost perfection. The shapers seem to have it dialed this year and they've done a great job. We've been riding it just after it's been cut so the walls are perfectly straight and if your carrying the right speed it sends you so high!! It's such a sick feeling. It's started snowing now and tomorrow's forecast to be sunny in the afternoon so were planning on building a jump....I'll be in touch.

The Season's In Full Swing!

Yo! I've been in Morzine for just over a month now and the conditions have been amazing. We've built a couple of powder kickers which worked out really well and we've had some sick park days over in Les Crozets. Just yesterday we were filming in the park as the swiss shapers built a 25m whoppatron of a park jump. Keep an eye out for the footage on mpora. Laters...

The Season begins!

Word! I arrived in Morzine on the 3rd and to my surprise there's lots of snow but very cold....I've been riding everyday so far and there's a sick park built on the Swiss side in Les Croset. With a couple of sick kickers built i'm happy and there perfect for getting my jumping legs back. It's forecast to snow over the next few days so there might be a powder day in sight.....Keeping my fingers crossed. Catch you soon
